The STORY

FROM DISHWASHER TO PRIVATE CHEF

Chef Matt’s path in the kitchen started with hard work, humility, and a deep respect for the craft. He began at the opening of Agustin Kitchen as a dishwasher, learning from the ground up before working his way into the kitchen and leaving as a skilled cook with scholarship opportunities.

From there, Chef Matt continued building his experience throughout Tucson’s restaurant and hospitality scene. His background includes Dante’s Fire, Sexy Grilled Cheese Food Truck, Casino Del Sol, Ume, PY Steakhouse, the Casino Del Sol bakeshop and buffet, The Lodge on the Desert, and serving as a chef for a University of Arizona sorority.

The LEgacy Behind OriGINAL GINO's CAFE

Original Gino’s Cafe, Chef Matt's Food Truck, was created in honor of his mentor, Chef Gino Marinelli of Roma’s Cafe. Gino was more than a teacher in the kitchen. He was the person who gave Chef Matt his start, believed in his talent, and helped shape the way he cooks, works, and serves others.

After Gino passed in 2015, Chef Matt carried his lessons forward. Naming the food truck Original Gino’s Cafe was a way to honor the chef who opened the door for him and inspired his love for true hospitality.

Today, that legacy lives on through every private dinner, catered event, mobile kitchen experience, and cooking class Chef Matt creates. His goal is to bring the same warmth, care, and fine dining experience to your table that Gino once gave to him.

Mentorship

Gino taught me more than how to cook. He taught me how to take care of the people at the table.

Matt’s Professional Chef Service is more than a private chef business. It is a family-run service built on hard work, fresh food, and a love for bringing people together around the table.

Chef Matt’s 11-year-old son proudly works beside him as his junior sous chef, learning the craft one event, class, and meal at a time. That family connection brings a personal touch to everything MPCS creates, from intimate in-home dinners to mobile catering and hands-on cooking classes.
